In-House Innovation Projects Recognized in Q2 Award Program

Changmei Technology has announced the recipients of its second-quarter awards for small-scale technical improvements, spotlighting two shop-floor initiatives that delivered measurable operational gains. The first project, a drop-weight test fixture for assessing fastener damping performance, was led by Chen Gang from the technical center, together with Zhao Bo and Hu Yang from equipment management. The second, a custom-built small mixer for workshop use, involved a cross-functional team including Chen Xin, Li Qiang, Hu Yang, Feng Aimin, and Sun Jianjun from production line 206.

Both projects passed on-site validation, committee review, and cost-benefit analysis conducted by the company’s internal evaluation board. According to the assessment report, the test fixture now allows more consistent impact testing without relying on external labs, trimming both turnaround time and per-test expenses. The mixer modification, meanwhile, addressed a recurring bottleneck in preparing small-batch compounds, reducing material waste and blending cycle length.

The company decided to award cash bonuses to both teams, a practice it has maintained for several consecutive quarters to encourage grassroots problem-solving. Unlike major capital projects, these small-bore improvements often come from operators and technicians who deal with equipment quirks daily. Management noted that the two winning cases stood out not just for their technical soundness but also for their replicability—similar fixtures could be adapted for other test setups, and the mixer design may be scaled for different batch sizes.

Recipients will receive their awards at a brief ceremony next week. The company also confirmed that the Q3 submission window is now open, with evaluation criteria remaining unchanged to maintain continuity.
